STANDARD CHARTERED DUBAI MARATHON 2017 20 January 2017
It was a clean sweep by Ethiopia at this year’s Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon. Ethiopian Tamirat Tola won the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon in a course record time of 2 hours, 4 minutes, while the women’s race was won by Ethiopia’s Worknesh Degefa Debele in a time of 2 hours, 22 minutes.
With temperatures soaring, the prospect of running anywhere, let alone a marathon, may not have seemed the most appealing prospect. However, that’s just what we did over here at Dubai Eye 103.8. We slipped our running shoes on, and runners of all standards participated in the 42km Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon, as well as the 10km race and 4km fun run. What a feeling it was to cross that finish line!
